Relentless Energy Drink Kerrang Tour 2012

Although this was the third gig I’ve photographed in the last few weeks, it’s the first I’ve managed to get round to blogging. Think this was my 6th time shooting the Kerrang! tour out of the last 7, and it’s a tour that I always enjoy, Kerrang! always manages to pull some great bands. Headlining [...]
2011 Live Music Photography
I’m usually pretty rubbish at this, but thought I’d do a little look back post over the live photography I’ve taken this year. Overall I’ve probably done less live photography this year, than any of the last few years. Part of this is because I’ve been busy doing a lot of portrait and commercial work, [...]
Zebrahead + Army Of Freshmen | Islington O2 Academy
This was the second date of the current Zebrahead & Army Of Freshmen tour I’ve managed to get along to. Both bands are great live, putting on a high energy pop rock show. I was down at the venue hanging out early, so took a few shots of the Zebrahead guys soundchecking, whilst I was [...]
The Get Up Kids | Camden Underworld
Anyone who knows me well, will know that The Get Up Kids are my favourite band of all time. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve photographed them/seen them live. This show was moved down from Koko to Camden Underworld. Camden Underworld would be one of my favourite venues to see live bands, [...]
Shadows Chasing Ghosts | Polar | Avosetta | Depth | Norwich Waterfront
Wednesday was the first time I’ve been at Norwich Waterfront since they added the new smaller venue in the Studio upstairs. Although the stage is small, this new venue provides a place for smaller bands to play who would be unable to pack out the bigger main room downstairs. It also helps the Norwich music [...]
Deaf Havana + Not Advised + The First
Another photo catch up, this time from the start of July. Deaf Havana toured back in July previewing songs from their new album, which is due out later this year. Was interesting seeing the change in sound for the new record, and that the band have grown into a better live band over time. Support [...]
JLS, Olly Murs & Alexis Jordan | Carrow Road | Norwich
Mainly covering rock music, I do sometimes find it odd taking photographs of pop bands, but when offered the chance to photograph JLS, Olly Murs and Alexis Jordan at Carrow Road, Norwich City Football Ground, I decided to go along.
Mayday Parade – Norwich Waterfront
Another catch up of photography from the past few months. This time is Mayday Parade from Norwich Waterfront on Tuesday 31st May 2011. This was the first time I got to see Mayday Parade live, and I was really impressed by their live performance. A great band to photograph, as they moved about and had [...]
Framing Hanley | My Passion | The Head Start at Norwich Waterfront
Here are some of my favourite photos from the Framing Hanley, My Passion and The Head Start gig at Norwich Waterfront back in May. Was a really good show, with some energetic bands. Especially impressed by My Passion. At the bottom of the post is a slideshow with even more images.
Rolo Tomassi – Norwich Arts Centre
Rolo Tomassi have always been one of my favourite live bands to photograph, mainly because of the huge amount of energy they manage to maintain for the whole set. These photos were taken at their gig at Norwich Arts Centre back in May 2011.
3OH!3 at Norwich Waterfront
I’ve been slightly behind on my blogging recently, so with a bit of down time I’m planning on catching up on it all.
3OH!3 was a great band to photograph. An energetic pop band, which likes to fuse dance and rock into their live shows.
Panic! At The Disco – Norwich UEA
Got to photograph Panic! At The Disco for the first time on Tuesday night. Having seen them once before (the infamous Reading 2006 perfromance) I was looking forward to seeing and photographing them. Despite awful lighting for support band Love Letters, the lights were turned on for Panic! allowing for a lower ISO and higher [...]
The Blackout / Swellers / Hyro Da Hero
Three great bands, all putting on amazing performances. I always love photographing The Blackout, so much energy and passion in their music, they always put on a show. The Swellers were awesome, I was so disappointed when their last Norwich gig got canceled (due to Gus from Young Guns being ill), so it was great to finally see them. And Hyro Da Hero was incredible, so good to have The Blackout supporting good rap music.

Senses Fail/Man Overboard/Southpaw

Friday night saw Senses Fail play Norwich Waterfront again. They are an awesome band, so much energy when they play live that they are always a joy to watch/photograph

Some photos from last nights gig at Norwich Marquee, featuring Underline The Sky, Rules Of Romance and Shorelines.
Nervous Turkey Xmas Show

Wednesday was the last gig of a long year of gig photography for me. This was a charity gig organised by Norwich band Lost? featuring some great local bands. The bands that played were Lost?, Underline The Sky, Tenex, Show Me The Coastline and Settle For Second.
Young Guns / Flood Of Red at Norwich Arts Centre

If you saw my photo blog of Young Guns from Hevy Festival you’ll know that Young Guns have been one of my favourite bands this year. Not only did they release one of the best albums of 2010, but that have toured constantly, entertaining crowds all over europe. The one thing guaranteed is a high energy show, and this night was no different. Great set. Support band Flood Of Red were also great.
The Bluetones at Norwich Waterfront

The Bluetones will always be a special band for me, they were the first band I ever saw live, back in 1996. It was watching them play, constantly listening to their albums, and live video (back in the days before DVDs) that made me want to learn to play drums and guitar.
