In Case Of Fire – Islington Academy

In Case Of Fire

There’s very few bands that I would travel down to London to see, just because I enjoy seeing them live, rather than just to take photos. Generally I only head down to London to see The Get Up Kids, Brand New, and In Case Of Fire.

Last night In Case Of Fire played a gig at the Islington Academy, their first mainland UK headline show in just over a year. Since their last show at Islington Academy the band have played most of the festivals in 2009, won the 2009 Kerrang Best Newcomer award, and then headed back to Northern Ireland to write the follow up to last years critically acclaimed album ‘Align The Planets’.

The show was meant to act as a showcase of the new material they have spent the last 9 months working on.

From a photography point of view, In Case Of Fire are a band I enjoying taking pictures of live, loads of energy and movement. The benefit of a small venue, and due to the lighting, meant I managed to get a few good pictures of drummer Colin, when usually drummers are too far back to get good pictures. The front of stage lighting wasn’t great, meaning that I needed flash to light up singer/guitarist Steve, and bassist Mark.
